My Precious Brother

  A Gem of Light Alright!

Happy Continuation Day to you my brother
I bless you with heartfelt love as much as a mother
Devotedly and kindly I treasure
Your eternal grace and unstinting affection
 For your siblings since life's very inception.

First and foremost, a precious first child of two parents
A father and mother brimmed with pride to nurture
The body-mind-spirit of their son
Of unmatched humility and grace, in demeanor
 Endowed with rare intellectual aptitude and perseverance
My brother brought the happy returns of outstanding conduct
and scholarly attainments
Showering joy to my parents!

Once a loyal husband and, indeed, a proud father
of a much cherished daughter and son, in birth order
He lives for his children through night and day
 planning for their happiness and future, day after day!

My brother, the first, of two precious uncles to my children
Wishing deep - through infinite time - for their well-being
From the very day they took birth, on this earth!
Dreams and aspirations in kind, time after time
Wishing success for a nephew and a niece
 with undiminished affection, through time.

A much admired loyal friend, to his friends of the world
Modeling virtuous attributes by way of life
Kindling their trust and giving them hope
Treating them with kind words and deeds
My brother's life's call, indeed, to denote!

Yes, he is my brother of selfless kind
Yearning to be charitable all the time
Unhindered by conditions of conventional life
 His life revolves around benevolent action in time.

First and foremost, a student for life
An engineer first, and a doctor by choice!
Focused upon service to mankind!

The Universe of Conditioned Perception and Perpetuation

Here is a touch of my wisdom... to make a difference in the tapestry of life.

Governed by Three Cosmic Principles

 The Ethical/Moral Principle

 The Ontological Principle

 The Soteriological Principle

The above noted are dimensions of significance that transcend the physical world. 

There prevails a cosmic order inaccessible to scientific investigation. Primarily, the ethical moral law and order - that lies beyond the physical/ biological domains - holds sway over our deeds. The course of destiny is thus defined by our cumulative deeds.

Self perpetuation and volition operate within the dynamic cosmic law and order - as orderliness - over and beyond the threshold of sensory perception.

The Principle of Moral Equilibrium is held between our actions and quality of perception - under the twin domains of perpetuation and volition. This equilibrium is sustained in continuum as 'streams of consciousness' transcending gross body-mind. Moral justice ultimately prevails regulating seeds and fruits of volition.

A subjective sense of moral justice reflects an objective reality. Thus, a principle of moral equilibrium is built into the very experience of reality or actuality. Essentially, our wholesome and unwholesome actions bear the potential to rebound upon ourselves.

Our cumulative deeds are lasting impressions that transform the wave continuum of consciousness as 'streams' in perpetual formation, evolution, preservation, and dissolution - when cooperative conditions prevail.

Far from being a projection of our subjective ideals, the moral law locks our volitional actions into moral conditioning. It is a cosmic order that is perfectly objective in that it functions independently of our desires, views, and beliefs.

Conforming to the principle of ethics (moral order) we align ourselves with the universal law (Dharma) of righteousness and truth which stands at the core of the cosmos.

The Ontological Principle deals with understanding the nature of being.

• It is a process of perpetuation under the principal of conditionality

• It is regulated by different orders of causation - layered and tiered in such a manner that higher orders of causation may exercise dominion over the lower ones.

• The order of volition - kamma - that governs the process of perpetuation (rebirth) is a higher order of causation beyond the range of investigation by ordinary empirical means; it intersects with the the lower orders of physical biological causation bending their energies towards the fulfillment of its own potential.

• Interwoven with the vast complex web of conditionality, our deeds produce their consequences just as naturally as seeds in a field, bringing forth their blossoms and fruits.

• Consciousness and world co-exist in a relationship of mutual creation; no consciousness arises without a body as a physical support and world as its sphere of cognition; by the same token, no physical organism and world as its sphere of cognition arises without some type of consciousness to constitute them. Neither mind, nor matter, can be regarded as the precedent.

• Mind, however, is the forerunner in terms of mental activity (as volitional stock) that steers the stream of perpetuation - called consciousness - from a past to a future.

• As distinguishing features and faculties, a stream of evanescent acts of consciousness made of evanescent units are fused into a unified whole by means of causal relations between all the occasions of consciousness in any individual continuum. Each occasion of consciousness inherits (at a deeper level) from its predecessor, the entire volitional legacy of that particular stream.

• Every volitional deed leaves behind a subtle imprint upon the onward flowing stream of consciousness. This is seed that will bear the fruit of its potential that matches its ethical/moral quality. The volitional seeds in the mental continuum remains dormant or latent until cooperative conditions arise. The order of the cosmos generates the realm of consciousness that provides the field for the fruition of its potential.

• At the deepest level, all individual streams of consciousness are integrated into a single all-embracing matrix that emanates the sum quality of accumulations of all living beings as they intersect criss-crossing, overlapping and merging. Ignorance and craving, the twin roots of perpetuation - through successive modes of formation and dissolution - will propel the streams of consciousness as seeds and fruits in realm and form.

The Soteriological Principle is in relation to final liberation from craving and grasping. 

• There are five spiritual qualities to be attained: faith, energy, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom.

• The four celestial abodes of loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity  define the path of purity towards the eventual liberation from all conditioned being.

The preceding discussion is an insightful analysis in relation to the order of the cosmos from a spiritual perspective. It is a compelling and intriguing presentation in view of our world of 'conditioned being and becoming'.  It is food for thought for any, or all, of us with investigative insight. Non-Violence Begins in the Home!

Hello My Friends,

The observation of silence is an integral aspect within the scheme of 'living to learn' and 'learning to live' in my Montessori tradition. Obviously, Dr. Maria Montessori incorporated this principle to the lifestyle of her educational setting - with meaning and purpose – having been one of the greatest proponents of non-violence and its cultivation from the very inception of life.

It is apparent that she had been under the influence of Eastern philosophical wisdom, having spent a considerable portion of her life in India.

The practice of mental composure, and insight into the interconnectedness of all aspects in, and around, the drama of life - from the coarsest to the subtlest levels and tiers of being - is central to Eastern philosophical thought. I attribute Dr. Maria Montessori’s vision of cosmic education, to her  deep appreciation and admiration of this wisdom - in view of relativity and representation through interdependence; therefore, it is safe to note that her educational philosophy finds its roots embedded in this ancient wisdom. 

In Montessori’s vision, consequently, she placed due emphasis upon non-violence that must begin in the home – by means of thought, word, and deed. She saw beyond ordinary eyes of convention that humanity may be re-directed through the child who is nurtured with unbiased love - by reverence to all things in kind that make life possible.

My mother, who was fortunate enough to be closely associated with Dr. Maria Montessori (from 1943), never forgot this prudent message - of a woman who thought ahead of her time – to help parents and all mentoring adults. In Dr. Montessori’s own words, “when you swat the first fly in the presence of your child, you have set the first example of violence in the home”.

All great thinkers seamlessly and unconditionally dwell in the natural abode of humility and non-violence - shunning all walls of egoistic mind; it is my own conviction that the daily practice of mental composure within the family setting (conveniently described as meditation) is pivotal to the cultivation of a non-violent spirit of mind.

As the Dalai Lama states very simply and eloquently, our world of tomorrow may be freed from violence if and when we inculcate the good habit energy of meditation in every child.

Through my four decades of touching the lives of children along a daily routine, I have had the pleasure of this practice of 'togetherness in body and mind'. The picture above is vividly reminiscent of the beautiful and tender hearts of children I touched with loving kindness. They were truly blessed for they held body-mind composure - with patience and devotion - after each daily mid-day meal.

A Vast Blessing to be Revered!

Humans are spiritual beings 

trapped in the field of dualistic knowledge and experience

 as 'self' and 'other than self'  

of subjective-objective split vision.

The human form is a vast blessing

on the ascent of spirituality;

 its sacred condition must be revered and protected

 from all ills of afflictive mental attitudes.

The human sensory body of perception
 is vulnerable and susceptible
 to negative influences. 

Unguarded sense-doors
 may only feed on the food of deception and delusion

  only to enmesh humans
 in a ceaseless web of conditioned suffering.

Humans inhabit the play-field
 of cyclic unenlightened existence
until lessons are learned to perfection
 diminishing and dispelling
 craving and clinging to worldly deception

Humans, in an ultimate sense,
- above all other beings of sentience -
are endowed with the potential for awakening
to the light of wisdom!

I am here on earth by your energy of LOVE

No words ever expressed shall be worthy enough

To match up to your thought-word-deed

Modelled around the clock

Three together, in our parents' shade

Two brothers and myself

Walked the footsteps

of dad and mom in unison, day after day

Dad, so regal and refined

with virtuous qualities of rare kind

Dad, a man of few words

spoke volumes of wisdom, when heard!

Dad, a spiritual being in human guise

Emanated an aura of selfless type!

Dad, the epitome of humility and youthful serenity

Fashioned by seasons of life, in eternity

Dad, you are my idol, my wondrous mentor 

beside my mother

Who nurtured my tree of life

For all weather!

Dad, detached from worldly nature

Though charismatic in demeanor

Dad, I am your continuation

Adhering to your ground of wisdom  

To reach the ultimate of human potential

Yes, I heard your words!

All beings, not forgetting myself, are responsible for our thoughts, words, and deeds.

Our joys and sorrows are brought about by our reactions to experience, but not by experience alone.

Our thoughts, words, and deeds, ultimately, are the powerful forces that overshadow all our expectations.

When we shut the doors - of our senses - to the world,
 the baggage we carry with us are those inevitable volitional imprints
 - of purity and afflicted kind -
 set in the repository of mind. 

All other accumulations are mere frivolities that we leave behind!

My Children's Father, My Life!

Seeds in the repository of mind

through space and time

emerged as seedlings 

adding vitality to life.

Ancestries through generations,

 with parents, as partners in life

 Bring forth the treasures

their offsprings 

the children of life!

Events in existence are filled with purpose and meaning

and never by chance, by design

I chose my wise parents

 - my idols -
 they epitomized LOVE 

having borne me
 and my siblings, most preciously unique

to model compassion all the way around.

I chose my beloved husband

to be bestowed with the treasures of my life
 - my children -

 of rare and exceptional kind

 ethical, moral, and intellectual 

to the best of their human potential
to keep in mind!

I chose my extended family circle,

 friends, and acquaintances

 to match the caliber of seeds sown in the repository of mind.

My seed-bed, over all, seems fertile

to have my blessings in life!

Words that preceded prepared the ground for this tribute

to my beloved husband

my life-refuge

A man of fine qualities

without glory or fame

Contently kind, with togetherness, the case

I look up to his simplicity and humility, 
with wisdom filled knowledge
finding peace in non-materiality
and personal courage

I revere his mind of intellectual finesse
though emotional and paradoxical
at times of worldly non-sense.

I adore him for his silent candor
to live within his zone of comfort
untarnished by social pressures

I  honor him with gratitude
 for placing his faith and trust
bestowing me the freedom
of my spirit, over and beyond!

I cherish his love expressed
solemnly without words
 touching my heart
 with sweet gestures, unheard!

Acceptance without expectation 
  the demonstrated truth 
is the wisdom of a lifetime
for appreciation and admiration
well understood!

The Universe of Mystical Forces and Substances

Hello, Dear Parent Friends of the Web!

Here is a touch of my wisdom... to make a difference in the tapestry of life.

The Revelation and Incessant Manifestation of

 A Psychophysical Drama

Experienced both individually and collectively

In retributive synchrony with volitional action 

In accordance with the universal law of 'karma'
Or 'the law of intentional action and moral responsibility'

Karma is best defined as intentional, conscious and deliberate action
 Motivated by volition, or  'the will', alright
 It brings forth the cumulative causal effects of equal kind
 Of wholesome and unwholesome imprints of mind
 As counteractively engaged forces in gridlock and balance
Through each mind moment along infinite time.

Thus, intentional action

 with their mental imprints
and their ripened consequences
manifested as phenomena
 surging through the passage of space and time
must succumb to the moral law and order of 'karma'
conditioned by interdependent co-origination
of psychophysical events in kind  

The gravity and force of karma
 is further determined or fine tuned

to match up to 'thus prevalent' influences
of subjective and objective conditions
of volitional, intentional action,
 through cumulative eternal time

Besides volitional, intentional karma
 are the neutral and ineffective karma

having no moral consequences
in view of their very nature as 'involuntary actions'

To understand the law of karma

 Is to understand
Our ethical duty and moral responsibility
Within the sphere of conscious activity
How we experience life
Viewed as a psychophysical river in flux
or a flowing field of energy 
 Is closely linked to the mind of moral conduct


The cosmic arena, hence, is none other
 than a fusion of four abstract energies


 -  resistance, cohesion, transmutation, and motion -

in different combinations and proportions
 infiltrated by all pervading space, sublime

to create substances discernible to sentient kind!

The morally ordered universe
experienced by means of substances 

brings forth phenomena
 of precision and perfection
conducive to all forces and processes of mind
whether it be...

 physical/physiological
mental/intellectual
emotional
ethereal
astral
psychic
 or spiritual guise!

Call it by any, or all, names

Natural world of forces and substances
The electromagnetic spectrum
The reality of gravity and relativity
The cosmic soup of quantum energy
The cosmic dance of the particles
The psychophysical spectrum

It is the one in the all, and all in the one!

Name and form must surrender!

I have cherished my motherhood since you became the sunshine in my heart!

 -  physical, mental, emotional and spiritual -

 through the years, with zest!

I have won your smile,

 your heart, 

your soul,

your trust,

your candor,

 your admiration,

 your appreciation,

 and much more

 through LOVE, unconditional, and delight!

You are my exceptional son in every sense of the word!

Compassionate

Charismatic 

Candid

Sensitively attentive

Selflessly empathetic

Intellectually astute

Cause-oriented

Passionately purposeful 

Lovingly caring and kind - to all of sentience

Spontaneously driven to achieve and serve a purpose in life!

What more words may I use to describe you my precious son,

 You are a treasure beyond words

to your parents,

This world may only flourish in every direction

 The Cosmology of Being

The Universe May be Likened to... 

A motion picture composed of still frames of personal/universal mind, or vice versa

A flowing repository of imprints - of matter and mind

A dynamic web of Interdependence

A cosmic matrix of interpenetration - of forces and phenomena

A magnanimous ocean
 of ever-varying individual/collective pyscho-physical experience
 conditioned by states of mind

An ever-changing tapestry colored by modes of emotional being

 A living dream trapped between 'a past' and 'a future'

A field of relativity in totality, in constant flux, as empty essence

A paradoxical spectrum of psycho-physical energies

An unfathomable, inconceivable, reality beyond human speculation
 - arriving from infinity and moving towards infinity -

The Universe...

...is a psychophysical experience, best expressed as a mind-body experience 
- continually perpetuating the paradox of subjective-objective consciousness -

 ..is a magic show of the senses by way of 'name and form'

...is the sensory reality of substances at relentless interplay

...is a global field of representation in volatility and relativity

The Universe...

...is the ever maturing field of redemption
- of individual/collective experience -
embedded simultaneously as seed imprints of body-speech-mind

...is the hard-wired expression of confused or diffused mind

...is the operational field of the ego -  by means of its windows, the senses

...is the dwelling place of ego-centric mind

...is the generator of ignorance and misconception
spurred by the incessant psychophysical drama of the senses 
 from which emerges 'craving and attachment'
 despite the provisional nature of all phenomena

...is the multi-tiered cosmic mandala of terrestrial-celestial 'being and form'

...is the vast spectrum of 'being or non-being' 
perpetuated in the form of natural abodes
 conducive to the diverse states and processes of mind 
in time and space

...is the ontologically ordered field of ceaseless mobility - from materiality to spirituality

...is the cosmological reality of psychological conditions and attitudes

The Universe, in Its Cosmic Entirety...

...is the supreme dharma, or truth
 as one vast tapestry of  flickering phenomena
manifested in the form of cyclic 'being' or 'nonbeing'

It transcends all misconceptions, differentiations, divisions, separateness, 
and  illusions of confused mind.

It defines our very existence as 'one, in the all' or 'all, in the one'
in adherence to the law of implicate order.

Such is the Reality...

Surrender to wisdom or mirror awareness 
that essentially projects
 the operational field of personal and universal experience
 manifested as 'universe' 
defined uniquely,
 by the ever-transient shadows
 of diverse psychological conditions, states, and configurations,
 of  volatile and confused mind that befall it.

Loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity
 are the natural abodes
 of elevated, enlightened, mirror awareness; 
these, together, transcend all walls of mind
 by way of ignorance and misconception
 in view of our very existence on earth!
